Clyde Luther Disney

Clyde L. Disney, age 89, lifelong resident of Blair, KY was born in Clutts, Ky on May 21, 1925 and passed from this life on Wednesday, August 13, 2014, at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, KY. He was owner and operator of Rex Barber Shop for 55 years before his retirement in 2002. He was a decorated WWII Veteran and awarded four bronze stars. Clyde was a faithful member of Blair Chapel, the American Legion and VFW.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Deloris Weldon Disney; parents, James (Jim) and Alice Maggard Disney; and brothers, Charles Disney and Raymond Disney.

He is survived by two brothers, Ralph Disney of Mayflower, AR and Don Disney of Cumberland, KY; son, David Disney of Cumberland; daughters, Dianne Disney of Mims, FL, Denise Disney Ingram (David) of Cumberland, and Debbie Disney of Piney Flats, TN; grandchildren, Wendy Disney Cornett, Jamie Disney, Lauren Ingram and Rachel Ingram; great grandchildren, Alyssa Cornett, Wesley Cornett, Shelby Disney, Greyson Disney and Grant Ingram; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

The family will receive friends in the Chapel of the Tri City Funeral Home, 506 Holly Street, Benham, KY on Friday, August 15, 2014, between 5 – 8 pm and at the Blair Chapel Church, Blair, KY, on Saturday, August 16, 2014, between 12 – 1 pm. Funeral services will be held at the Blair Chapel Church on Saturday, August 16, 2014, at 1 pm with Rod Raleigh officiating. Interment will follow in the Charlie Maggard Cemetery in Blair, KY.

Gary Cornett, Wes Cornett, Jamie Disney, Grayson Disney, Dave Ingram, Jerry Ulery, and Larry Ball will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations to be made to the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Care Facility, Hospice of the Bluegrass Development Office, 2312 Alexandria Drive, Lexington, KY 40504.
