Edna Mae “Daisy” Creel, 89 of Van Wert, Ohio and formerly of Anderson, Alabama, died at 1:50 a.m., Tuesday August 12, 2014 at the C.H.P.-Inpatient Hospice Center in Van Wert, Ohio.
She was born on May 29, 1925 in Ohio City, Ohio, the daughter of the late Henry William and Grace Adeline (Magoto) Stutz. On May 1, 1954, she married Henry Lee Creel, who preceded her in death on October 10, 1987.
Daisy was a homemaker. She was a member of the Union Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Anderson, Alabama and a 1943 graduate of Ohio City-Liberty High School.
Family survivors include her daughter-in-law, Robin M. Creel of Montgomery, Michigan; step-sons, Jack, Tom, & Robert Creel; two brothers, John Stutz of Vendocia, Ohio, and Danny (Carol) Stutz of Van Wert; three sisters, Ruth Topp of New Bremen, Pearl (Warren) and Judy Lewis, both of Van Wert; four grandchildren, Sara (Bill) Creel-Tylka of Taylor, MI, Aaron Creel of Anderson, AL, Amanda Drumm of Marshall, MI, and Sam Creel of Bloomington, Indiana; and two great grandchildren, Carson Drumm and Savannah Creel.
She was preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey H. Creel on June 22, 2012; two brothers, Bill Stutz and Bobby Joe Stutz; and three sisters, Gertrude Topp, Tudi Miller, and Betty Shertzer.
Visitation is scheduled for 1- 3 p.m., Friday, August 15, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home, Van Wert, Ohio and 9-11:00 a.m., Monday, August 18 at the Union Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Anderson, Alabama. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday August 18, 11:00 a..m. at the church, officiated by Rev. Charles Hood. Interment is at Oak Grove Cemetery in Anderson, Alabama.
