Ludowici – Joshua John Friel, 30, passed away Thursday, August 7, 2014 at his residence. He was born in West Virginia, lived most of his life in Virginia and Georgia, the past two years in Long County. He had worked in landscaping, as a roofer, and in general construction. Josh was an avid outdoorsman and sportsman, a loving son, brother, and uncle who enjoyed gatherings with family and friends. He was a generous, giving person and a Christian. His grandmothers, Clara Martin and Eula Jane Friel preceded him in death. Survivors are his mother, Debra Munford of Waynesboro, VA; father and step-mother, Marvin and Shelley Friel, Sr. of Angier, NC; sisters and brothers-in-law, Crystal Friel and Kenny Roach of Ludowici, Lucinda Lewis and Michael of Droop Mountain, WV, and Elizabeth Coates of Clayton, NC; brothers and sisters-in-law, Edward Friel and Bridget of Staunton, VA, Marvin Friel, Jr. and fiancé’ Misty of Fuquay-Varina, NC, and Chris Woollard and Melodie of Stuarts Draft, VA; maternal grandfather, James Martin and paternal grandfather, Clarence Friel, both of Marlinton, WV; 6 nieces, Raeann, April, Railey, Launa, Maggie and Rachael; 8 nephews, Caleb, Chase, Cameron, Ryan, Ember, Hunter, Dominic and Andrew. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, August 12 at 12 Noon at Jones Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Davis officiating.
