Mildred Louise Phillips, age 84 of Oneida, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2014 at the Summit View of Lake City.
Born in Jamestown, Tennessee on August 29, 1929 she was the daughter of the late John Corbit and Effie Crabtree Evans.
Mildred was baptized in 1986 in Fort Payne, Alabama and was a member of Black Oak Baptist Church in Oneida, Tennessee. She worked as a cook for 12 years and owned Rupil’s Restaurant in Fort Payne, Alabama. In 1998 at the age of 68 years old she graduated from the Landmark Christian School.
In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband Elbert Lee Phillips; two sons, Gary Dean and Clifton Ray Phillips.
Mildred is survived by her children, David Phillips and wife Priscilla, Susie Blevins and husband Tommy, Ronnie Phillips and wife Sharon, Jackie O’Neal and husband Kyle and Rickie Phillips and wife Mary; eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She also leaves other relatives and friends behind.
Friends may visit with the Phillips family Tuesday, August 5, 2014 from 12 noon until time of service at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Jones and Son Funeral Home with Bro. Kyle Keeton and Bro. David Phillips officiating.
Music will be provided by the O’Neal Family.
Interment will follow in the Cooper Memorial Cemetery.
