Grant M. Kurtz

Grant M. Kurtz, 91, of Cumru Twp., passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at home.

He was the husband of N. Lera (Scheiwe) Kurtz, with whom he shared 68 years of marriage. Grant was the son of the late John and Ella (Bitner) Kurtz.

He was last employed by the former Delaware Valley Safe Guard in Reading. He was a longtime independent contractor for the former Bell Telephone. Grant was a lifelong member of Saint John's Lutheran Church in Mohnton. He was a lifetime member of Grill Fire Company. He enjoyed fishing, was an avid Phillies fan, but most importantly, was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather who loved his family. Mrs. Kurtz would especially like to thank all of the nurses from Berks Visiting Nurses who aided in his care.

Surviving in addition to his wife are children, Jeffrey G., husband of Mary M. Kurtz of Cumru Twp.; Sharon L. Isett of West Lawn; and Lisa A., wife of Charles E. DeLancey of Mohnton.

Grandchildren, Melanie L., wife of Nathanial Sola of Denver; Marcella I., wife of Jose Acosta of Wyomissing; Lindsey M., wife of Michael Hart of Shillington; and Brandon M. Jarmoska, companion of Katelaine Frandsen of Shillington.

Great Grandchildren, Benjamin Sola, Abigail Sola and Natalie Acosta. He is also survived by one brother, Roy Kurtz of Mohnton.

He was predeceased by three brothers and one sister.

Relatives and Friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at 10:30 AM at Saint John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, S. Church Street, Mohnton, with Pastor Rachael C. Dietz, officiating.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2014 from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the church.

Interment will be in Mohnsville Cemetery, Mohnton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his memory to Saint John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 5, Mohnton, PA 19540.
