Wayne Lee Resop, 75, of Oakfield, died Tuesday, July 29, 2014, at the Veterans Home, King, Wisconsin.
He was born on September 12, 1938, in Fond du Lac, a son of Leo J. and Alvina Schwandt Resop.
Wayne served with the United States Air Force from 1955-1959.
He held various jobs and was a barber by trade. He enjoyed watching the Badgers, Packers, Brewers, NASCAR, and horse races.
Survivors include a son, Mark (Jennifer) Dewitz of Cascade; two daughters: Dawn (John) Bottjer and Gwendolyn Murry Resop of New Castle, Delaware; eight grandchildren: Amber and McKenzie Dewitz, Shawn Resop, Michelle, Mellissa, and Alli Bottjer, Ryan Resop, and Jazzmine Murry; a great-granddaughter, Lilliana ReiRuz; his caregiver, Virginia Dewitz; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his parents; his wife, Lorraine; a son, Brian Resop; and a sister, Carlene King.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2014, at Mach Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 31 East Division Street, Fond du Lac, with Rev. Edward Nitschke officiating.
The visitation will be on Saturday at Mach Funeral Chapel & Crematory from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
Burial will be in Avoca Cemetery, Oakfield.
