Franklin (Danny) Boggs, age 80 of Gordon, KY, passed away on Monday, July 28, 2014, at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, KY. He was born on December 16, 1933 in Harlan County, KY to the late John and Rebecca Baker Boggs. Franklin worked approximately 40 years as a Woodworking Machine Salesman for Diehl Machines and Weinig Group before retiring. He attended the Cumberland Missionary Baptist and served his country in the US Air Force.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, John Boggs, Jr., Cora Boggs and Ruth Taylor.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 61 years, Joan Conklin Boggs; sons, Edward Boggs (Sherry) of Florida and Jerry Boggs (Violet) of Gordon, KY; brothers, Millard, Burton, and Randy Boggs; sisters, Muriel Hoskins, Margie Stratton, Dorothy Weaver, Betty Carl, and Brenda Branch; grandchildren, Jason Boggs (Holly), Laura McGhee (Nikai), and April Thomas (Bryan); great grandchildren, Eric, Brandon, Allison, Sabrina, Vincent, and Micah; and a host of other family and friends.

The family will receive friends in the Chapel of the Tri City Funeral Home, 506 Holly Street, Benham, KY on Wednesday, July 30, 2014, between 5 – 8 pm. Funeral service will be held in the Chapel at 1 pm on Thursday, July 31, 2014, with the Reverends Dennis Williams, Randy Boggs, and David Boggs officiating. Interment will follow in the Boggs Cemetery in Gordon, KY.

Jerry Boggs, Steven Hensley, Jason Boggs, Preston Carl, Randy Boggs, Jr., Bryan Thomas, Josh Hensley, and Larry Carl will serve as pallbearers.
