James Benjamin Johnson

Funeral service for Mr. James Benjamin Johnson, Jr. who departed this earthly life on Saturday, July 26, 2014 when the angels came and welcome him home, will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at Metropolitan Community Church of Tampa, 408 E. Cayuga Street, with the pastor Rev. Pressley Sutherland, officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James B. Johnson, Sr. and Lucille C. Johnson; sisters, Lee Ella Kinsey, Essie Mae Riley, Doris Johnson Ash and Easter Holden.

Mr. Johnson leaves to cherish fond memories of him with a devoted brother, Andrew Johnson; nieces, Barbara Powell, Bernice Allen, Valentine Pearson, Barbara Canady, Paulette Parks, Belvan Council, Iris Warhock, Genette Keely and Sandra Kinsey; nephews, Fred Thomas, Julius Hodges, Paul Council, Kenneth Council, Ronald Riley, Rudolph Riley, Robert Riley, Ray Riley, Norris Kinsey, Rechae Kinsey, Tony Kinsey, Carl Kinsey and Charles Kinsey; cousins, Mary Dorsett, Laura Missouri, Mary Missouri, Dicty Missouri and Jimmy Missouri; a host of great nieces and nephews; dear friends, Donnel Galloway and Jerry Wingfield other friends and extended family.

Mr. James Benjamin Johnson, Jr. was born on October 10, 1937 to the parentage of Mr. James B. Johnson, Sr. and Mrs. Lucille C. Johnson in Lacoochee, Florida. He later moved to Tampa, Florida. He was a retired Registered Nurse. He enjoyed being a Registered Nurse and taking care of God’s people. Mr. Johnson also known as “Uncle Bud” or “June Bud” had many friends in all walks of life. He was a child of God and a faithful member of Metropolitan Community Church of Tampa under the leadership of Rev. Pressley Sutherland.

There will be a viewing on Friday, August 1, 2014 from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. with family receiving friends from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home, 3000 N. 29th Street, Tampa, Florida.
