Our beloved Aunt, Mary “Betty” Glanding, 90, of Warwick MD, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on July 25th where she joined her husband John on his birthday.
Betty was born May 17, 1924. She was a graduate of Cecilton High School. Betty worked as a bus driver for many years and was also an assistant Post Master at the Warwick Post Office. Betty enjoyed working in her yard and loved playing cards/dominoes with her friends in Warwick. A wonderful cook, Betty enjoyed cooking for family and friends and it was the basis for many happy get-togethers. Betty’s greatest joy was spending time with her niece Becky and Becky’s children, Mary and Hunter and their families. She was a very important part of their lives and their love and memories of Aunt Betty will never be forgotten!
A lifetime member of the Warwick Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church, Betty generously gave time and energy to many church events and functions. Those who were fortunate enough to know Betty, benefited from her warm heart and gentle spirit.
Betty is proceeded in death by her husband, John Glanding and their son John Jr., her sisters Virginia Galati, Catherine Glanding, and brother Amos Wilson.
She is survived by her nieces, Becky (Covey) Unruh, Mary (Ronnie) Reed and daughters, Nephews Hunter (Julie) Unruh and daughters and Rob Unruh and his children, all of Taylors Bridge, Townsend DE. She is also survived by a host of other nieces and nephews.
