Catherine Robinson

Catherine McKnight Robinson, age 55 of Cumberland, KY, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, July 26, 2014, at the Pikeville Medical Center. She was born March 21, 1959 to the late Denver and Minnie Smith McKnight in Lynch, KY. Cathy was a Certified Nursing Assistant, an accomplished song writer, and spent most of her life caring for those who couldn’t care for themselves. She believed in the Pentecostal faith and was a member of the Totz Church of God.

Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Richard, Roy, and Darwin McKnight; sisters, Mary Schuler and Barbara Thomas; and brother-in-laws, George Schuler and Bill Thomas.

She will be missed by her son, Brandon Robinson (fiancé, Stephanie Whitaker), of Hazard, KY; siblings, David McKnight of Cumberland, Johnny McKnight (Kay) of Cumberland, James (June Bug) McKnight (Barbara) of Crab Orchard, KY, Sara (Sissy) Augusta (John) of Johnson City, TN, and Deborah Fields (Shelby) of Benham; fur-babies, Sadie and Bam Bam; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, family, and friends.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 29, 2014, between 5 – 9 pm and Wednesday, July 30, 2014, between 9 am – 2 pm in the Chapel of the Tri City Funeral Home, 506 Holly Street, Benham, KY. Funeral services will be held in the Chapel on Wednesday, July 30, 2014, at 2 pm with Reverend Jess Dixon officiating and Reverend Mark Turner delivering the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Hall Cemetery at Cloverlick, KY with nephews serving as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Diabetic Association and/or the American Cancer Society in memory of Cathy.
