DENISON – A Celebration of Life for Ms. Constance Rhodes, age 69, of Denison, will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Mt Zion Baptist Church, located at 530 W. Walker in Denison, TX. Pastor Cora Dee Northington, of the Living Word Faith Center in Missouri City, TX, will be the Eulogist. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Denison.  Public visitation will be on Friday from 10:00 am until 7:00 pm at the funeral home.

Ms. Rhodes was born Constance Fransdetta Blacknell on October 1, 1944 in Denison, TX to parents Eddie Blacknell, Sr., and Mable Louise Keyes-Blacknell. She received her education from the public schools of Denison, TX.

Constance excepted  Jesus as her Lord and savior at a young age, and was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. In order to support her family, she worked for over 27 years as a caster for the Howmet Corp.

Connie, as she was affectionately called, enjoyed life. She spent her pas time traveling and shopping, and in the company of close friends and family. Her most enjoyable moments were with her children and grandchildren whom she loved dearly.

Connie passed away from this temporary life, to a life of eternity, early on Sunday Morning, July 20, 2014, from The Terrace at Denison.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, siblings; Eddie Blacknell, Jr., and Joyce Blacknell, and her two sons; Cecil Rhodes, III and Edward A. Rhodes.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her only daughter, Celia Jackson-Waddles and husband Charles, of Denison, TX, sisters; Cora Dee Northington, of Houston, TX and Sonya Jett and husband Michael of Frisco, TX, brother, Walter Blacknell and wife Mollie, of Sherman, TX, along with 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends
