Richard “Rick” Christian, age 57, of Ewing, MO, died unexpectedly on Sunday, July 20, 2014, in the emergency room of Keokuk Area Hospital.
Rick was born July 6, 1957 in Keokuk, IA, a son of Richard and Evelyn Cecil Christian.
He graduated from Revere High School. On July 20, 1979, he was united in marriage to Tami Fountain and they were the parents of Ryan and Keyan.
Survivors include his sons, Ryan Christian of Quincy, IL, and Keyan Christian and his fiancé, Jennifer Priebe and her son, Zack, of Canton, MO; his mother, Evelyn Christian of Bonaparte, IA; two brothers, Steve (Terri) Christian of Williamsburg, IA and Jim (Janene) Christian of Byhalia, MS; four sisters, Vhonda (Sandra) Shannan of Keokuk, IA, Rhonda Hales of Wytheville, VA, Kathy Christian of Austin, TX, and Kim Seltzer of Fort Madison, IA; as well as nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Christian and sister, Teresa Christian.
Rick was a former employee of Kahoka Motor Co. and the Clark Co. Sheriff’s Office. He also worked part time for J & J Stop and Go and Duer’s Conoco. He was a well known figure at the front gate of the Clark Co. Fair for many years. He was an employee of the Lewis Co. Sheriff’s office for 10 years, retiring due to ill health.
Rick was a friend to all. He had a smile for everyone and enjoyed spending time with his many friends. He was a Nascar fan and Red Sox and Cardinal fan. More than anything, he loved keeping up with his sons and their activities.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 26, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with Pastor Ray Gilbert officiating. Burial followed in the Anson Cemetery.
A memorial will be established.
