ROBERT H. “Bob” SORRELL, age 92, of Germantown, OH, passed away Friday, July 18, 2014, at Hospice of Dayton, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Menifee County, KY, on June 3, 1922, to the late Farmer and Lizzie (Barker) Sorrell. He retired from Central States Trucking, and was a Germantown Police Officer. He was a member of the Germantown First Church of God. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Phyllis J. (Slyder) Sorrell (1994); 4 brothers and 3 sisters. Bob is survived by his wife, Nola (Johnson) Sorrell; his son, Gary (Delinda) Sorrell of Germantown, OH; 2 daughters, Sandy (John) Baker of Sardinia, OH, and Diana (Lloyd) Hyde of Miamisburg, OH; 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; his sister Kathleen (Herb) Davis of Middletown, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. (2 hours prior to the Service), Monday, July 21, 2014, at the First Church of God, 760 Farmersville Pike, Germantown, where the Service will follow at 1 p.m., with Pastor Steve Carney & Rev. Rodney Williams officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Poasttown, OH. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton or First Church of God Building Fund.
