Carla Gae (Sharpe) Rambo, 70, of Owasso, formerly of Stuart, died Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at her residence.
The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 18 at Bishop Funeral Service.
A funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 19 at Bishop Chapel of Memories with Woodrow Hall and Jimmy Nunn officiating. Interment will be at Pryor Cemetery. Service arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service.
Born February 20, 1944 in Stuart, she was a daughter to Audie and Selma (Elms) Sharpe. Carla was a graduate of Stuart High School and attended East Central University in Ada.
She was married to Olen “Sam” Rambo on April 19, 1963 in Stuart, Oklahoma where they established their home. Carla was co-owner of Sam’s Grocery in Stuart for 39 years and played a vital role in the businesses’ day to day operations.
Carla was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a lifetime member of First United Methodist Church in Stuart. She was also an avid baseball fan. Carla loved crafting, traveling, gardening, cooking and, most importantly, spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter: Kristy Warren and husband, Mark of Owasso; son: Sammy Rambo and wife, Kayleigh of McKinney, Texas; grandchildren: Hunter Rambo and special friend, Court Ammerer of Durant, Taylor Warren of Owasso, Connor Warren of Owasso, Chloe Rambo of McKinney; sister: Carol Trimm and husband, Bob of Stuart; brother: Forrest Lee and wife, Jeannie of Enid; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Audie and Selma (Elms) Sharpe, her husband: Olen “Sam” Rambo on September 9, 2009, two brothers: John “Junior” Lee and James Sharpe.
Pallbearers will be Wade Davis, Larry Tucker, Trenton Hokit, Kenny Hokit, Tracy Blassengame, and George Watkins.
Honorary pallbearers will be Roger Davis, Tony Wellington, Kenneth Hokit, Denton McNutt, Paul Glover, and Bounce Hull.
