Rodger Dean Gualtiere

U.S. Veteran

Rodger Dean Gualtiere, age 82, of Williamsburg, formerly of Farmington, MN, passed away on July 14, 2014 at Munson Medical Center. He was born on April 5, 1932 in Hibbing, MN to the late Francesco and Clara (Johnson) Gualtiere.

Rodger married Yvonne Marie Olson on February 17, 1953 in Hibbing. Together they raised 3 children. They were married for 44 wonderful years when Yvonne passed away in 1997.

Rodger served his country as a proud member of the United States Air Force.

He retired from the aerospace defense industry where he was a computer specialist. Rodger had many interests that included real estate, remodeling, gardening, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his loving children, Dawn Marie (Wayne LaVigne) Gualtiere White of Isabella, MI, Bruce Rodger (Gail) Gualtiere of Williamsburg,MI, and Christen Francesca Gualtiere (David) Evenson of Otsego, MN; his 4 cherished grandchildren, Brandon Rodger Gualtiere of Williamsburg, MI, Gabrielle Sabione Gualtiere of Williamsburg, MI, Zachary David Evenson of Otsego, MN, and Francesca Yvonne Evenson of Otsego, MN; his step-granddaughter, Dawn (Garet) Burch of Milford, MI; and his dear sister, Joyce Gustafson of Colorado Springs, CO.

Rodger was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Yvonne; and his sisters, Mildred Fairbanks, Eleanor Gaultier, and Margaret Jeronimus.

A memorial service for Rodger will be held at the Williamsburg United Methodist Church on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation being held the hour prior to the service. Pastor Nate Starkey will be officiating.

Memorial contributions for breast cancer research may be given to ABC Challenge Walk, 5227 Mackenie, Kewadin, MI 49648.
