Sandra Saylor Dixon

Sandra Saylor Dixon, age 67, of Jacksonville, Fla. formerly of New Marshfield died Sunday July 13, 2014 at Kindred Hospital North Florida.

Born April 14, 1947 in Athens, she was the daughter of the late Norman L. Saylor and Eileen Beveridge Saylor of New Marshfield.

She was a 1965 graduate of Waterloo High School and a 1969 graduate of Ohio University. She was a school teacher for many years in Ohio and Florida. She and her husband were “retired from the U.S. Navy”. She enjoyed her cats, the outdoors, the beach, shopping and being retired. She had been a resident of Florida since 1980.

Besides her mother, Sandy is survived by her husband of 36 years, Jeffrey Dixon, retired Senior Chief Petty Officer, U.S. Navy; a sister, Christy (Mike) Downard of Athens; a brother, Gregory (Claudette) Saylor of Albany; sister in law, Claudia Brown of New York and brother in law, Doug Dixon of Tennessee; two nieces- Ali Downard and Shannon (Jeff) Coley; two nephews- Bill (Karen) Whitlatch and Eric Saylor.

She is preceded in death by her father; father in law and mother in law, Clyde & Lucille Dixon; two nieces, Erin & Jamie Downard and a brother in law, Mike Dixon.

Funeral service will be conducted Saturday 11:00am at Jagers & Sons Funeral Home, Athens with Buford Brown officiating. Burial will be in New Marshfield Cemetery. Friends may call Friday 6-8pm at the funeral home.
