Donald B. Carey

Donald B. Carey, 63, of Dover, DE passed away at his home on Tuesday, July 8, 2014.

Born on October 8, 1950 in Delaware to the late Paul & Margaret Isabella Carey. Donald graduated from Middletown High School. He worked on a farm while going to school. Throughout Donald’s life he worked for McNatt Pontiac in Odessa, Lettica Bucket Factory in Middletown, VPI Merrix for 27 years, and Hutson Masonry in Harrington and retired in 2009.

Donald enjoyed taking care of his home, liked doing his yard work. His new interest was car shows which he was very proud of his 2008 Dodge Challenger. He would tell everyone about his numbered car.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Robin L. Carey; his daughters, Terry Lynn Courtney and her husband Dwayne of Dover, Donna Lynn Hutson and her husband Jonathan of Harrington, Tiffany Ann Dixon and fiancée Michael Roussell of Dover; mother-in-law, Constance Evans; grandchildren, Katelyn Rowland, Brandon Staats, Amber Lynn Staats, Hailey Nacole Dixon, Madison Leigh Courtney; step-grandchildren, Nattalie Roussell, Mikey Roussell; great grandson, Jacob Norvell. He is also survived by his brothers, Paul, Richard, Edward, James, Robert, and William and his sisters, Peggy Stewart, Shirley Noland, Joan Cannon, and Linda Wachowiz.

The family would like to thank everyone at Delaware Hospice for their great care, all the nurses for their care and everything done for him, and to thank all the people at Bay Health Cancer Center for all their great care.

Services will be held on Friday, July 11, 2014 at 1 pm at Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home, 212 N. Broad St., Middletown, DE 19709. Visitation will be from 12-1. Interment will be private.
