William Eugene Trickett, Sr.
William Eugene Trickett, Sr., 87, of Tunnelton, died Saturday, July 5, 2014 at home with family by his side.
He was born May 3, 1927, in Tunnelton, a son of the late C. Ross and Agnes Florence Funk Trickett.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and was the last survivor of his immediate family. He was a member of the Brighter Day Church. He worked as an engineer for the B&O, Chessie and CSX railroads and was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen. Mr. Trickett was a 32-degree mason in the Aurora Lodge # 43, AF & AM and OES Chapter #143, both in Newburg, Scottish Rite of Free Masonry, Valley of Clarksburg, Grand Chapter of WV Copestone #12 and Demolay Commandery # 11 Knights Templar, both of Grafton. He was a former volunteer fireman for the Tunnelton Fire Department and a former town recorder for Tunnelton.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Rhea Bolyard Trickett; his son, William Eugene Trickett, Jr. and wife, Faye of Warsaw, NY; four grandchildren, Tim Trickett and wife Sulema, of Lorena, TX, William “B” Trickett, III and wife, Amy of New Braunfels, TX, Tom Trickett and wife, Tammy of Avon, NY and Brande Murphy and husband, Jim of Remsen, NY; fourteen great grandchildren and three great- great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Richard, Paul, Wallace and Charles Trickett and two sisters, Louise Trickett Wiles and Mary Trickett Teets.
Family and friends may call at the Browning Funeral Home in Kingwood on Thursday from 2-8 pm where services will be held at 2 pm Friday, July 11, 2014 with Pastors Roger and Cheryl Harris officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens where Masonic graveside rites will be conducted by Aurora Lodge #43, AF & AM.
