Matthew J. “Matt” Sprague, 30, of 235 West Center St., Johnsonburg, died Saturday afternoon (June 28, 2014) at his residence following a lengthy illness.
He was born on Dec. 29, 1983, a son of Lawrence “Larry” Sprague and Peggy Dickinson Sprague, and had resided in Johnsonburg all his life. Mr. Sprague graduated from Johnsonburg High Area High School in 2003, and was a member of Holy Rosary Church and the Central Hose Co. He was an avid Cinch player.
He was employed as a Walmart associate for 10 years.
Mr. Sprague is survived by his parents, mother with whom he resided and his father also of Johnsonburg; paternal grandmother, Donna Sprague of Johnsonburg; and one brother, Jacob “Jake” Sprague of Cary, N.C.
He was preceded in death by paternal grandfather Sidney Sprague; and maternal grandparents Elmer and Eleanor Dickinson.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Monday, June 30th at the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home, 401 Chestnut St., Johnsonburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 1st, in Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg, with the Rev. David J. Wilson, pastor, as celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Johnsonburg.
