Mamie Sue Sebastian Carpenter, 86, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 24, 2014. Visitation: 3PM - 4PM Saturday June 28, 2014 at Forest Oaks Funeral Home in Jasper, TX. Funeral Service will follow at 4PM at Forest Oaks Funeral Home with interment to follow at West Oaks Cemetery in Jasper, TX. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests your consideration of memorials in Mamie Carpenter’s name to the Wounded Warrior Project. Mamie was born in Vivian, LA on January 4, 1928 to Edward and Eula Bell Sebastian. She graduated from Istrouma High School in Baton Rouge, LA. She also graduated from nursing school at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge, LA. She worked as a nurse at hospitals in Baton Rouge, Tulsa and Lubbock from which she retired. For the past year and a half she has been a resident of Arlington, TX. Before that she resided in Jasper, TX, Claremore, OK, Irving, TX, Tulsa, OK, Lubbock, TX and Baton Rouge, LA as well as Vivian. Mamie will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Mamie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Malcolm Earl Carpenter; sister, Helen Spurlock. Survivors: son, Ronald Carpenter and wife Karen of Arlington, TX, their daughter Megan Smith of Savanna, GA and Ron’s son Jerald Carpenter of Azle, TX and; son, Malcolm Edward Carpenter and wife Patti, their son Malcolm Edmond Carpenter and daughter Victoria Carpenter, all of Arlington, TX; great grandsons Ethan, Gareth and Malcolm Carpenter; brother Mansel “Pete” Sebastian of Baton Rouge, LA; brother Donald Sebastian and wife Jackie of Highland Village, TX; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends throughout the United States.
