Clyde J. Thomas age 87 of the Greenvale community, died Tuesday afternoon, June 24, 2014 at University Medical Center in Lebanon. He was the son of the late Edgar Freece Thomas and Effie Mable Hollingsworth Thomas and was preceded in death by his sister, Louise Patterson. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War, stationed in France with Company B, 472nd EAB, 20th Engineer Brigade. Clyde was employed at the Alvin C. York VA Medical Center in Murfreesboro for nearly 60 yrs. He was a farmer and served on the Wilson Co. Farm Bureau Board of Directors and was a member of Greenvale Baptist Church. Clyde is survived by his wife of 59 years, Pauline Lanier Thomas; children, Ray Thomas and wife, Crystal of Mt. Juliet, Joan Dotson and husband, Art of Lebanon, Alan Thomas and wife, Kandi of Murfreesboro; 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 1 niece and 3 nephews.Funeral services 2 p.m. Friday, June 27, 2014 at Hunter Funeral Home with Rev. Charlie Pollard officiating. Visitation 4-8 pm Thursday and 11 am till service time on Friday. Pallbearers, Adam Thomas, Mitch Hight, Chase Prince, Lynn Pulley, Lewis and Lane Patterson. Interment with military honors at Greenvale Cemetery.
