Joseph Gary Mattingly, age 64 of Loretto, passed away Friday, June 20, 2014 at his residence.
He was born April 7, 1950 in Marion County. He was a retired employee of G.E. Appliance Park and a Veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Daniel and Addie Mayola Carrico Mattingly.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Stephanie Essex Mattingly, three daughters, Melinda Peterson (Kevin) of Loretto, Tabatha Hamilton of Manton and Jessica Mattingly of Saint Francis, six grandchildren, Dylan Peterson, Wyatt Hamilton, Taylor Clark, Emmy Hamilton, Aliyah Mattingly and Noah Mattingly; two sisters, Charlotte Mattingly (Ricky) and Diane Bradshaw all of Lebanon, one brother, Cooper Mattingly (Mary Margaret) of Loretto.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM Monday, June 23, 2014 at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 6785 Highway 52, Saint Francis. The Revs. George Illikkal and Emil Kandor will concelebrate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery where military rites will be conducted by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.
Visitation is 3-9 PM Sunday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto with a prayer service at 7 PM by Rev. Deacon Dennis May.
