Marshall T. Ferguson “Fergie”, 86, of Stanton, DE passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 15, 2014 at Seasons Hospice IPU at Christiana Hospital.
Fergie was born in Logan, WV on December 6, 1927 to the late Claude and Madelyn Dowdy Ferguson. He graduated from the University of Virginia in 1951 and was a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity. He served his country in the U.S. Army and went onto being an Insurance Agent for 50 years. Fergie was also a past member of the Society of Financial Service Professionals. Fergie was a very social man, with a generous nature. He loved sitting in his backyard enjoying the beautiful flowers and pool with his family and friends.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 54 years, Nancy in 2004.
He is survived by his brother Sam Ferguson and his wife Mary, of Virginia, his five children; Marshall T. Ferguson, Jr. and his wife Carolyn and their son Evan, Mark Ferguson, Scott Ferguson and his wife Jane, Jeffrey Ferguson and his children, Jeffrey, Jamie, and Jenny, Kim Ferguson Korup and her children Alexandra and Jacqueline and a great grandson Michael Gage Bendistis.
Visitation will be from 6-8 pm, on Friday, June 20, 2014 at McCrery and Harra Funeral Home, 3710 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington. There will be no service and interment will be private.
