Raymond S. Fuson

Raymond S. Fuson, 80, of Evarts, went home with the Lord on Monday, June 16, 2014. He was born March 17, 1934 in Evarts. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Raymond was a member of the Evarts Baptist Church. He was a retired construction worker; had owned and operated Fuson Trucking Company; and had worked with his son at Fuson Logging Company.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Fuson, Sr. and Nellie Smith Fuson; and a son, Raymond Timothy Fuson.

Survivors include his loving wife of fifty-three years, Hester Fields Fuson, Evarts; four children, Rick Fuson and wife, Marcella, Baxter; Rachel Creech and husband, Greg, Evarts; Donna Fee and husband, Willie, Evarts; and Diane Overbay and husband, David, Baxter; nine grandchildren, Scotty Moore, Jessica Fuson Howard, Ricky Fuson, Jr., Rebecca Fuson Raleigh, Jared Fuson, Amber and Austin Fee, Dalton and Ashley Overbay; and four great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Abrahm Howard; Arianna and Mason Raleigh.

Also surviving are five sisters, Thelma Fuson, Mary Hensley, Nancy Helton, Jane Middleton and husband, Hayward, all of Evarts; Barbara Blair and husband, Bob, Shelbyville; one brother, Walter Fuson and wife, Jerri, Evarts; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and church family that he loved dearly.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 18, 2014, beginning at 5 pm at the Evarts Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 pm with the Reverend David Overbay and the Reverend Gary Craig, Jr. officiating.

Burial will be Thursday at 12 noon at the Evarts Memorial Gardens with his grandsons serving as pallbearers. Anyone wishing to attend the committal service is asked to meet at the funeral home by 11:30 Thursday.
