Mr. Bobby “Bob” Caldwell Branch, age 90, of Wilkesboro, died Saturday, June 14, 2014 at his home. He was born April 4, 1924 in New Hanover County to Harry Branch Sr. and Lydia Mae Padrick Branch. He was a graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree from Duke University, where he was an avid fan and supporter. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where he served in various leadership positions and enjoyed helping families by assisting with genealogy efforts. Mr. Branch was a World War II Air Force Veteran . Mr. Branch was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, June Wright Branch; and brother, Harry Branch, Jr.

Surviving are his daughter, Melissa Wilson and husband Michael of Hickory; son, Connally Branch and wife Svitlana of Greenville, N.C.; two sisters, Gladys Carroll of Raleigh, Mildred Walton of Jacksonville, N.C.; three grandchildren, Emma and Summer Wilson, Dare Krompecher; one great grandchild, Mansfield Krompecher; step grandchild, Roman Bilan; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Highway 115 South, with Bishop Larry Sloop officiating. Burial with military honors by Veterans of Foreign Wars Honor Guard Post 1142 will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints from 10:00 until 11:00 am on Tuesday, prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted. Pallbearers will be Connally Branch, Keith Ball, Ray Wright, Dwight Glass, Steve Woodard and Bryan Rouse. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Wilson, Elder Klinker, Bud Keaton, Graham Carroll and Wayne Wright.
