U.S. Veteran

Newbury, NH-James L. Staub, 68, of Southgate Road, died peacefully Thursday, June 12, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Rochester, NY on June 23, 1945 the son of George O’Brien and Lorna (Zastrow) O’Brien / Staub.

A longtime resident of Rowe, MA and Northboro, MA, he moved to Newbury, NH 11 years ago. Jim was employed by Yankee Atomic Electric Company for many years. He proudly served in the US Navy from 1965-1971 as an Electronic Technician Reactor Operator on a nuclear submarine in the Pacific. He enjoyed cars, music, electronics and computers, taking them apart and putting them back together.

Jim is survived by his wife of 47 years, Carol (Augustine) Staub of Newbury, NH; a son Dana K. and his wife Christine Staub and their children, Audrey and Finnegan of Princeton, MA; two daughters, Allison L. Staub and her love Jeremiah Covert of Missoula, MT and Katrina A. Webster and her husband, William Webster and his two sons William and Nicolas of Lebanon, NH; a sister Pamela and her husband Jeffery Chester of Wadsworth, OH; two brothers, Colin Staub of Rochester, NY, and Erik and his wife Pamela Staub of Wadsworth, OH; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services will be held privately with family and friends.
