Ruby passed away peacefully at home Tuesday, June 10, 2014 with family and friends by her side. She became an angel with grace and courage. She had no doubt about the wonderful life Jesus had waiting for her. Her loving sprit and mind were still with her but her body was done with this world.

Ruby was born to Oscar and Florence Gardner at their rural home in Duncan, Oklahoma May 1, 1927. She married J.B. Anderson in 1945 and raised one child Vivian.

Ruby was preceded in death by Oscar and Florence, her beloved J.B. brother Orland (Ida Sue), sister Eudine, infant sister Emma Ann, brother Bill (Pauline), sister-in-law Margie Gardner, niece Shari Hogan and her son-in-law Butch Keen.

Ruby is survived by her daughter; Vivian Keen, brothers James & Gus Gardner, sister Hallene Newman, also numerous nieces and nephews; Linda (Tommy) Cooper, Joy (Eddie) Battershell, Bill (Suzanne) Gardner, Rita (Jim) Herman, James (Mary) Newman, Steve (Nona) Newman, Cathy (Patton) Parish, Carolyn (Greg) Gammon, Greg (Gwyn) Gardner, Tim (Julie) Gardner, David (Sandra) Gardner, Stacy Hackler, Earl (Penny) Gardner, Ralena (Mike) Fewell, extended family Jennifer Mellow, Kirsten Doering, Max Prada. Special blessings to Kirsten, Max and Infinity Hospice who helped bedside care during the last days.

Until the last Ruby continued to cook Christmas goodies, and gardened enough in the summer to feed half the neighborhood.

Funeral services will be held in Duncan, Oklahoma at the Carter-Smart Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. She will be laid to rest next to her beloved J.B. at the Duncan Cemetery.
