Helen M. Stolla, 90, Neenah, passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at her home with family members at her side. She was born on November 6, 1923, in Swanville, MN, the 9th of ten children to Leo and Mary (Wiener) Urbanski. Helen was united in marriage to Edward J. Stolla on September 23, 1944, in Rothschild, WI. He preceded her in death on January 10, 1983. Helen loved art and music and was a very talented and creative person. She was an expert Bridge player and valued the many friends who played bridge with her throughout the years. Helen was a homemaker for most of her life. She enjoyed reading, traveling, cooking (especially for family holidays) trying new recipes and spending time with her family. She was also adept at water color painting, piano playing, gardening, sewing, and home decorating. Helen was employed with Memorial Florists & Greenhouses for twelve years and loved designing flower arrangements. She was a long-time member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Parish, Neenah.
Helen is survived by two daughters: Kathleen (Wayne) Humski, Menasha; and Dianne (Stuart) Farnham, Ojai, CA; a son: James (Debbie) Stolla, Neenah; five grandchildren: Deb Zehner, Anthony (Nikole) Humski, Kristen (Brian) Reid, Taylor Farnham, and Brandon (Tina) Kramer; eight great grandchildren: Callie, Keaton, Noah, Rylee, Haylee, Julia, Jade, and Jordan; two brothers: Leo (Theresa) Urbanski, Palm City, FL; and Al Urbanski, Wausau, WI; her two closest friends: Betty Quinn and Barb Peterson, both of Neenah; as well as many other relatives and friends.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a great grandson: Evan Zehner; seven siblings: brothers George, Ed, and Sam Urbanski and sisters Emma Fedor, Rose Berst, Rita (Krause) Bukowski, and Dolores Kamke.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 620 Division St., Neenah, with Fr. Michael Ingold officiating. Interment will be in St. Margaret Cemetery, Neenah. Visitation will be Tuesday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Helen’s favorite charity, the Hortonville Community Food Pantry, P.O. Box 236, Dale, WI 54931.
