Bud Kunce, age 86, of Shelbina, MO, passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at his residence.
He was born on December 13, 1927, in Shelbina, MO, the son of Frank J. and Sylvia D. Turney Kunce. On October 2, 1953, he was united in marriage to the love of his life Ann Little at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Shelbina. She survives.
Bud is also survived by six children, Daniel Kunce of Fox Lake, WI, Kevin Kunce and wife Carol of Raymore, MO, E. Dian Kunce of Kearney, MO, Justin Kunce and wife Michelle of Brewton, AL, Samuel Kunce and wife Teresa of Shelbina, MO and Bradley Kunce and wife Andrea of Shelbina, MO; seventeen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren and two sisters, Arlene Loflin of Columbia, MO and Marge Craig and husband Jay of Shelbina, MO.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Bud was a 1945 graduate of Shelbina High School and a member of Lowman Chapel Methodist Church. He served his country in the United States Army in 1952 during the Korean War, serving eleven months in Korea. He was a much respected crane operator and a member of Operating Engineers Local 513. Bud enjoyed bowling, golfing and surf fishing in South Padre Island, TX, trout fishing in Poudre Canyon, CO, salmon fishing in Alaska, and fishing local lakes and rivers in Shelby County.
A Celebration of Life with be held at the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbina, MO, on Sunday, June 15, 2014, at 2:00 pm. The family will receive guests at the Funeral Home in Shelbina from 1:00 to 2:00 pm on Sunday. Memorials may be made to the Donor’s Choice or Hospice Compassus.
