Vittorio (Victor) Capalbo, 78, a resident of Poughquag, NY for 38 years, passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Putnam Hospital Center, Carmel, NY.
Born in Pawling on May 9, 1936, he was the son of the late Dominic and Agnes (Taney) Capalbo, and served in the US Navy during the Korean War. He married Tonya Slocum of Poughquag, NY on April 22, 1967 in St. John’s Church, Pawling; she survives at home.
Victor was a warehouse manager for the Chase Record Center in Pawling. He was a former member of the Pawling Fire Department and the Beekman Lion’s Club, and he enjoyed the Theater, travel, music, and golf.
In addition to his wife, Tonya, he is survived by four brothers, Savario (Mike) of Carmel, Serafino (Sy) of Pawling, and Dominic and Roland, both of Poughquag; his sister, Teresa Swalligan of Pawling; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends. He is predeceased by his sister Ann Bierle.
Friends may call at the Horn & Thomes, Inc. Funeral Home, 83 East Main Street, Pawling Sunday, June 8th from 4-7 PM. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday at 11 AM at St. John’s Church, 39 East Main Street, Pawling.
