Elma Elise Plaisance Ardis, 76, entered into eternal peace on June 4, 2014 at Thomas Hospital in Fairhope, Alabama. Previously residents of Pensacola, Florida, Elma and her husband, Grady, had been residents of Daphne, Alabama since 1997. Ms. Ardis was born on September 7, 1937, a daughter of the late Alvin and Annie Plaisance in Livonia, Louisiana. She later settled in Krotz Springs, Louisiana with her first husband, Lionel Talley, and raised three beautiful children until his death in 1972. She married Grady Lee Ardis, the love of her life, on June 8, 1973. Together, they spent 31 years enjoying family, volunteering in church and traveling. Very active members of St. Ann's Parish in Pensacola, they were often found either stringing up Christmas lights or in the pizza booth during St. Anne's Round-Up. After moving to Daphne, they became members of Christ the King Catholic Church and continued their respective ministries. They both enjoyed traveling and made several trips across the United States, Canada and Mexico. Ms. Ardis' greatest joy was her family. She loved her grandchildren with all her heart and her great grandchildren even more. She most enjoyed spending time with her precious dachshund, Itsy. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 31 years, Grady L. Ardis in 2004; her first husband Lionel Talley in 1972; and her son, Joe Ardis in 2006. She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her dear siblings; Verna LaCombe, Norman (Belva) Plaisance and Essie Dalfrey, her children; Darrel (Joan) Talley, Lynell (Creal) Godwin, Lori (John) Johnson, Maria (Donnie) Hunhold and Judy Reyes, 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, plus a boy and girl due in September. Funeral arrangements are Friday, June 6, 2014 at the Christ the King Catholic Church, 1503 Main Street, Daphne, Alabama.
