Benjamin Franklin "Red" Carr 77, of Cartwright, Oklahoma passed away Monday morning June 2, 2014 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison. He was born October 4, 1936 in Nashville, North Carolina to Albert Council and Bettie Lee Breedlove Carr, Sr.

      Red joined the Air Force in 1956 where he served as an aircraft mechanic until he fell off the wing of an airplane coated in ice in Alaska landing on his knees. He Married Maxine McKinney January 9, 1959 in Colbert. After he was discharged he then moved to Cartwright where he eventually built his own home and local business known as Red's Auto Supply in Colbert. Red also served as the Fire Chief of the Cartwright Fire Department and Bryan County Sheriff. 

      Red had 5 brothers and 8 sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents, the absolute love of his life Wife Maxine on April 15, 2006, Brothers Albert C. Carr, Jr. and Eugene Carr, Sisters Mary Evans, Bessie Evans, Sarah Evans Strickland and Amanda Carr. Surviving are Two Sons Bobby Carr of Cartwright and Larry Joe Carr of Hollis, Oklahoma. His Two Granddaughters whom he adopted and raised as his own, Stacy Jo Carr and Casey Marie Love and husband Andr'e all of Durant and is also survived by his other Granddaughter Olivia Marie Carr age 5 of Denison. Five Great-Grandchildren whom he adored more than anything in the world oldest to youngest Ashtan Carr, Ethan Whitlow, Dennis "D3" Mitchell, Alexis Mitchell and Autumn Love. Brothers Howard Carr and wife Kate of Florida, Phil Carr of Nashville, North Carolina, Ralph Carr of Gastonia, North Carolina, Nancy Carr Tempa Platt and Marie Moore and husband Herbert all of Nashville, North Carolina and Jane Dority and husband Bobby of California.

       A Funeral Service for Benjamin "Red" Carr will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday morning June 5, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Cartwright, Oklahoma with James "J.D." Rice and Jim Teal officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memory Cemetery in Colbert. Pallbearers will be Jeremy McKinney, Scott McKinney, Tommy McKinney, Chris Pendleton, Henry Cummins and Greg McKinney. Honorary Pallbearers will be Steve Withers and Mark McKinney. Family night will be from 6-8 Wednesday night at Cunningham Funeral Home. The register book may be signed and condolences may be made online at Arrangements have been entrusted to the Cunningham Funeral Home in Colbert, Oklahoma.
