Joseph Richard Geringer

U.S. Veteran

Joseph R. Geringer, 73, of Merrimack died suddenly on Monday June 2, 2014 at Mass General Hospital in Boston, MA.

He was born in New York, NY on May 12, 1941 to the late Frederick and Mary (Conroy) Geringer.

Joseph served in the U.S. Navy from 1959 to 1963. He was last employed as an accountant for the former Home Insurance company in Manchester.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Rita (Murphy) Geringer of Merrimack; four sons and three daughter-in-laws, Michael and Nicole Geringer of Rowley, MA, Joseph Geringer of Merrimack, Daniel and Rowie Geringer of Sylmar, CA, and Brian and Sarah Geringer of Boston, MA; six grandchildren, Jacob, Haley, Mateo, Emily, Claire and Colin; a sister-in-law Patricia Freyman; brother-in-law Stephen Murphy; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held at the Rivet Funeral Home, 425 Daniel Webster Highway, Merrimack on Thursday June 5 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 PM. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. John Neumann Church, 708 Milford Road, Merrimack on Friday June 6 at 9:30 AM. Burial with Military Honors be held Friday at 2:30 PM in the NH Veteran’s Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH 03303.
