Lawrence (Larry) Brooks Senior was born August 7th 1935 in Mesa, Arizona, his parents were Ernest and Ada Brooks. Larry was the last of their children to depart from this world. His long earthly journey ended on May 29th 2014; as a new heavenly life was to begin. As a youth Larry grew up in Riverside, California and attended Polytechnical High School. Larry met the love of his life and sweetheart Miss. Doris Parish in 1954 in Blythe, California, they were married in 1955 and celebrated their 59th anniversary January 29th 2014.
Larry spent 21 years in the United States Army where he served during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was honorably discharged and retired from the armed services in 1974. Larry returned to the work force at the National Steel and Ship Building Company where he retired once again. Larry was a world traveler and had many interest, fishing and outdoor activities where his favorite pastimes. Larry was a kind and considerate human being, he believed in strong work ethics, which he exemplified to mankind. Larry was a foster parent for many years and gave guidance and counsel to young and old alike. He was a role model, a spiritual man and was well respected. Larry deeply loved his family and would move heaven and earth to provide and protect those in his care.
Larry is survived by his beloved wife Doris (Chicken), his Sister Darlene Booker his three sons: Kevin Brooks (Stephanie) of Lemon Grove, California, Lawrence Brooks Jr. (Bonita) of Peoria, Arizona and Tyrus Brooks of Phoenix, Arizona. His grandchildren: Jahan, Danuelle, Lindsay, Jarrett and Blake; two great grandchildren: Jathan and Hope, and sister in law Loretta Edmond (Lincoln) and many dear relatives and friends.
All will cherish their special times with him and he will be truly missed.
