Richard “Butch” White of Ford, VA. transitioned peacefully on May, 28, 2014 at the MCV college of Virginia, Richmond VA. He was born August 17, 1950 to the late Arthur and Elenda White. At an early age Richard confessed Christ and joined Mount Poole Baptist Church, Ford. He received his primary education in Dinwiddie County Public Schools and was a graduate of Dinwiddie High School Class of 1971. Richard remained a Citizen of the Dinwiddie County community his entire life. He was preceded in death by two sisters Catherine Moore and Rebecca White, two brothers, Artie White and Vernon White and a foster brother, Allen C. Bland and a devoted Aunt and Uncle, Sarah and Lloyd Q. D. Gee. He leaves to cherish his memory: a loving and devoted wife of 45 years, Gloria Diane White of Ford, Va.; a devoted son, Orlando Dewayne White of Nashua, Nh. Three brothers in law Leroy Winfield of Petersburg, Roslyn Luton of Hampton, VA and Deacon Gene Winfield (Odessa) of Sutherland,VA Three cousins; Clarence White along with his wife Barbara, both Chesterfield, VA.; Murphy Lee Hardy & Constance Hardy of Midlothian, VA.; Deaconess Marion White of Ettrick, VA. Other devoted family members include Thelma Taylor, Maybelline Gillis, and Nicole Taylor. The family would also like to recognize his devoted friends and neighbors: Arthur, Katrina and Patrice Greenhill, Leonard Jr. & Patricia Lewis, along with their son Jonathan, Wayne and Mary Sadler, as well Brenda Sadler, Stephanie Marker & Bennie Gills, Cathy Nelson all of Ford, VA Debbie & Ronnie Richardson of Church Road, VA and Brenda A. Johnson of Charles City, VA.

A Celebration of life will be held at 1PM, Monday, June 2, 2014 at Mount Poole Baptist Church, 9515 Baltimore Rd, Ford, VA with Rev. Arlester Newsome, Jr officiating and Rev. Stephen W. Pugh, Pastor eulogizing. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Viewing will be held on Sunday at the Petersburg Chapel.
