Joseph Frank Corso

U.S. Veteran

Mr. Joseph Frank Corso age 97 of Murphy passed away on Wednesday May 28, 2014 following an extended illness.Joseph was born on September 16, 1916, the son of the late Frank and Theresa Corso in Lodi, N.J. He was the oldest of seven children, one brother Frank Corso and one sister Anne Wiggens are still living. He was married to Mae Pedivil for forty-nine years when she passed. They had four children, Frank Corso, Jo Anne Thompson, Theresa Heise and Mary Anne Parnell, eleven grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. He was of the Catholic Faith and an active member of St. Williams Catholic Church. He was a member of the knights of Columbus for seventy-one years and a past master of the fourth degree in the state of Florida. He was a Boy Scout leader for forty-four years. He was a veteran of the US Army Signal Core of WWII. Surviving Mr. Corso are his loving wife of twenty-four years Betty Corso of Murphy ,one son and daughter in law, Frank and Sharon Corso of Orlando, FL., three daughters and sons in law, JoAnne and John Thompson of Knoxville, TN., Theresa and Herm Helse of Ft. Pierce, FL., Mary Ann and Rick Parnell of Orlando, FL., One brother and sister in law, Frank and Maria Corso of NJ., one sister, Ann Wiggins of FL., fifteen grandchildren, thirty two great grandchildren, many other relatives and friends also survive. A memorial service will be held on Saturday June 14, 2014 at 10:30 am from the St. Williams Catholic Church in Murphy with Father George and Father Alex officiating. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to Father Thomas Irupezicle, Missions % St. Williams Catholic Church. The family will meet with friends following the services at the church. Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville is in charge of the arrangements.
