Barbara Rizzitello, 60 of Melon Road Blaisville, passed away unexpectedly on Monday May, 26. She was born on June 2, 1953 in Calais Maine. Barbara is a longtime resident of Blairsville, moving to Union County from Ft. Lauderdale Florida in 1998.

Barbara is survived by her Fiance, Michael Densmore, his son and daughter, Brian and Michelle Densmore of Colorado, and her beloved dog Handsome. Her nephew Todd Jayne, and wife Dawn ,and their son Conor, daughters Hayley and Kaitlyn, and grandson Caleb of Indianapolis. Preceded in death by her Husband Vincent Rizzitello, her Father John and Mother Dorothy Bellande.

Barbara was a member of The Morning Dawns Esophageal Cancer Widows Support Group, and was a primary support person who counseled many women through their grieving process.

In 2011 Barbara was responsible for convincing Georgia Governor Nathan Deal to sign a Proclamation that declared April as Esophageal Cancer Awareness Month in Georgia. In her time of grief, she worked tirelessly to get this accomplished to honor the memory of her late Husband Vince. That was our Barb.

Barbara was a passionate supporter of animal rescue organizations and causes. Barbara loved people, and she never met a stranger. She was a vibrant, compassionate, caring person, with a wicked sense of humor. She will be missed by all. Peace to our Girl, forever in our hearts. A Celebration of Life will be held on June 1, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the residence.

In lieu of flowers please donate in her honor at ECAA, www.ecaware.org , or your favorite animal charity. Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville is in charge of the arrangements. You may sign the family guest book and send condolences on line at www.mountainviewfuneralhome.com
