Dennis Tyler Owens, Sr.

Home going services for Dennis Tyler Owens, Sr. of Tampa, who passed away Friday, May 23, 2014, will be held Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at the Shiloh Restoration Tabernacle, 1044 E. Brandon Blvd., Brandon, FL 33511 Pastor O’Neil Salmon with Pastor Darren Jones, officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, Tampa, FL.

Dennis Tyler Owens, Sr. was born August 23, 1965 in Orlando, Florida, were he attended Edgewater High School. He participated in the NJROTC Program and was on the Armed Basic Drill Team. He then later relocated in 1991 to Tampa, FL, where he worked at Italian Oven and Steak-N-Ale Restaurant as a prep cook. He was a great fisherman. He loved to BBQ and was a magnificent cook who enjoyed seeing others eat his food! Later in 2010, he accepted the call of Christ in his life.

On May 23, 2014, at approximately 2:20 A.M., God called Dennis Tyler Owens Sr. home.

He was preceded in death by his father, Tyrone Owens, Sr. and mother, Vialethia Griffin-Owens.

He leaves to cherish fond memories with: wife, Edwardena Willis-Owens; children, Desirre Harrell, Deshay Harrell, Dennis Tyler Owens, Jr., and Daevon Dennis Owens; stepdaughter, Calesian Harris; grandchildren, Kymani, Kynnedi and Kylin Williams, Jamaal Ross and Taylor Harrell; 7 brothers, Tyrone, Jr. (Kathy), Ronald (Gwen), Donald, David (Maria), Larry
(Antoniette), Michael (Janet) and Kenneth Owens; 1 sister, Ivey Owens-Gibson (Roland); mothers of his children, La’Tasha Mann and Lisa Harrell, sister-in-law, Eujetta McBurney; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

There will be viewing from 5-9:00 P.M. Friday, June 6, 2014 at the Wilson Funeral Home, 3000 N. 29th Street, Tampa, FL 33605. The funeral cortege will arrange from 1026 Lochmont Drive, Brandon, FL 33511.
