Loretta Mae Hancock, 89, of Tulsa, formerly of McAlester, died Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at University Village in Tulsa.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 30 at Memory Gardens Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Clint Pope officiating. Service arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service.

Loretta was born in Kinta on December 9, 1924 to Henry & Adelia Holt Hickman. She went to school at Kinta and graduated from Kinta High School.

Loretta was married to Cleo Hancock on March 2, 1946 in Reno, Nevada. She worked for Petroleum International in Tulsa for many years as a bookkeeper. Even after retirement she was called by her old employer to work on the books.

She and her husband Cleo, lived in McAlester from 1991 to 1999. Most of their lives, they lived in Tulsa from 1951 until 1982. They returned to Tulsa in 1999.

Loretta was an avid fisherman. She belonged to the Hillcrest Baptist Church while living in McAlester.

Survivors include her husband: Cleo Hancock of Tulsa, and many nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother: Henry Mitchell Hickman; and sisters and brothers-in-law: Maurice Henson & Sam Henson, Norma Jean Minyard & George “True” Minyard, and Jimmie Franklin & David L. Franklin.
