Francis Edward DeBlois

U.S. Veteran

Mr. Francis Edward DeBlois, 75 of Rochester, NH and formerly of Adams and Williamstown died Saturday May 24, 2014 at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, MA. He was born in Pittsfield, MA on May 7, 1939, son of Francis G. and Helen (Czaja) DeBlois. He attended Adams schools and graduated from Adams High School. He graduated from Arizona State University and later earned a Master’s degree from Lesley College in Cambridge, MA. Fran was a veteran of the US Army and served as a radio operator, stationed in Germany. He was last employed by Sprague Electric Co. as its Marketing Manager. Fran also operated his own advertising business, "Prospect Mountain". He was an avid sports fan, especially following Williams College athletics and University of New Hampshire football. Fran also enjoyed gardening and travel. His wife was the former Betty June Lanter who died on November 4, 1997. They were married in May 1964. Survivors include his partner, Sara Keniston of Rochester, NH; and two sons Christopher F. DeBlois of Roswell, GA; and Alexander A. DeBlois and his wife, Tracy of Bainbridge Island, WA. He also leaves four grandchildren Christopher, twins Matthew and Patrick, and Margaret; a brother, Gregory A. DeBlois of Adams, and nieces and nephews.

FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral for Francis DeBlois will be held Saturday May 31, 2014 at 11:00 AM at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St. North Adams, MA. Burial will follow in Eastlawn cemetery in Williamstown. Calling hours at the funeral home are Friday from 4-7 PM.
