Betty Jean Young

A Homegoing celebration for Mrs. Betty Jean Young of Tampa, who went to be with God on Saturday, May 24, 2014, will be held Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at the St. Peters Apostolic Church, 3303 E. Ellicott ST, Tampa, FL with the Reverend Robert Huey of North Carolina, officiating.  Interment will follow in Floral City Cemetery in Floral City, FL.
        
Mrs. Young was born July 1, 1947 in Floral City, Florida.  She enjoyed cooking, shopping and helping people.  She always would lend a hand to anyone who needed it. 
        
Mrs. Young was a loyal member of St. Peters Apostolic Church where she was Acting Pastor. 
       
She attended the public schools of Hillsborough County and graduated from Howard W. Blake High School.  Betty worked for 23 years as a Unit Clerk at St. Joseph’s Hospital.

Betty married Rev. Henry J. Young in 1970.

Mrs. Young was preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth Mobley and Herbert Mobley, Sr.; husband, Rev. Henry J. Young; brothers, Nathaniel Mobley, Calvin Mobley, Sr. and Leon Mobley and son, Wendell C.  Young, Sr. 
         
She leaves to cherish memories of her:  2 sons, Wilbert Young and Reginald Young; 1 daughter, Marilyn Walker (Jerry); 1 sister, Cecelia Langston (Dwight); 1 brother, Herbert Mobley, Jr., all of Tampa; grandchildren, Deterrio Young, Inaj and Niamya Young, Jerry, Delaneo and Maseo Walker and Simone Palmore; 8 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and special niece, (Dietrich Langston), Delia, Brittany and Keira Langston and Natalie Mobley; nephews, Rodney Dorsey (Jackie), Kelvin Mobley, Calvin Mobley, Dwight Langston, Jr., Calvin Mobley, Jr. of Honolulu, HI; Abraham Mobley of Las Vegas, NV and Herbert Mobley of Honolulu, HI; a host of cousins and other sorrowing relatives and friends; 3 special friends, Margett Murdock, Lucy Jordan and Eddie Mae Williams.
       
There will be visitation from 5:00 - 9:00 P.M. Friday, June 6, 2014 at the Wilson Funeral Home, 3000 N. 29th Street, Tampa, FL 33605.
