Raymond Gene Cimonetti

U.S. Veteran

Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, RAYMOND GENE CIMONETTI, 79 of Sebring, Florida and a former longtime resident of Clarksburg, MA died Monday May 19, 2014 at Florida Hospital in Sebring after a long and courageous struggle with cancer. He was born in North Adams, MA on December 5, 1934, son of Joseph P. and Ida (Franzinelli) Cimonetti. He attended local schools and graduated from Drury High School in 1953. Ray was a proud veteran of the Korean War and served in the US Marines. He was last employed by the city of North Adams as the supervisor of the landfill where he worked for many years until his retirement. While in North Adams, he was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post #4300 and a member of the Elks Lodge #1529 in Sebring, FL; the American Legion Post #90 in Pownal, VT; the Elks Lodge # 487 in North Adams, MA; and a member of Saint Catherine Church in Sebring, FL. Survivors include his wife, the former Marilyn Dami, whom he married on December 31, 1955. Two daughters- Lynn Raymond of Concord, NC and Lori Beighley of North Adams One son- Loren Cimonetti of North Adams Eight Grandchildren; Colleen Raymond Bullard, Gabrielle E. Raymond, Mitchell G. Raymond, Aron Cimonetti, Andrew Cimonetti, Adam Cimonetti, Ashley Beighley, and Laura Beighley. Five Great Grandchildren He also leaves three sisters including Linda Burdick of Florida, MA; Angela Cimonetti of East Palestine, Ohio, and Arlene Vachereau of Clarksburg and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers and a sister.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Raymond Cimonetti will be celebrated Tuesday May 27, 2014 at 11:00 AM at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. At his request, burial will be private. There are no calling hours.
