Robert “LeRoy” Lilly 75, of Wellsburg, WV passed away Friday, May 16, 2014 at Wheeling Medical Park with his wife by his side.

He was born on September 7, 1938 in Beech Bottom, WV a son of the late Robert Lilly and Birdie (Eicholz) Lilly and his step-mother Jerry Lilly. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his son, Mark Robert Lilly in 1977, two sisters, Lillian Kadlic and Joann Gaitan, and his mother-in-law, Catherine Sabljak.

LeRoy graduated in 1956 from Wellsburg High School and later served in the Army from 1958-1960. He retired in 1998 from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Corporation where he worked as an Instrumentation Repairman. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and the Wellsburg Elks Lodge. He was an avid golfer and member of the Highland Springs Golf Course.

LeRoy is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Norma Jean (Sabljak) Lilly whom he married on May 25, 1968. A step-brother, Terry (Sheila) Lilly of Beech Bottom, WV Several nieces and nephews and cousins

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 21st from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at the Mullenbach Funeral Home 669 Main St. Follansbee, WV. Vigil services will be held at 3:30 P.M. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 22nd at 11:00 A.M. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Wellsburg, WV with the Rev. Fr. Dan Pisano as celebrant. Interment will follow in Franklin Cemetery, Wellsburg, WV. Full military honors will be conducted by the Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Catholic Church at 1300 Charles St. Wellsburg, WV 26070 or the Sisters of Mount St. Joseph 137 Mount St. Joseph Rd. Wheeling, WV 26003.
