Cynthia

Cynthia Lucila Kelso Gulledge, 56, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, May 14, 2014. She was born July 15, 1957 in Cali, Colombia, the daughter of James H. and Selena Kelso.

Cindi was a devoted wife, mother, Grammy, daughter, sister, and friend. She was a free spirit who brought the sunshine wherever she went. She loved her dog Lucy, watching movies, playing cards, eating dark chocolate, exploring new places, knitting and sewing, and loving on her grandchildren. Cindi graduated from Emma Sansom High School in 1975 in Gadsden, Al. In 1978, she married the love of her life, Kenneth Gulledge, and together they moved to Georgia where they raised three daughters.

Cindi's love for her family and faith in God was beyond comparison. Her life and legacy are a testament to her fundamental optimism, grace, and humility. She always found ways to leave a place better than she found it through a kind word or deed, never seeking credit, but simply following her godly convictions and promoting a peaceful outlook on life.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Selena Azzilee Kelso. She is survived by her husband, Ken Gulledge; daughter, Kala McRae and husband John; daughter, Karli Gulledge; daughter, Kelsey Gulledge; father, James H. Kelso; brother, Edward Kelso and wife Mary; brother, Michael Kelso and wife Gloria; sister, Chila Reavis and husband David; and two grandchildren, Josie and Scout McRae.

A visitation will be held at McDonald and Son Funeral Home between 6 and 9 PM on Friday, May 16. A memorial service will be held at McDonald and Son at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 17. Burial will be held at 9:00 AM at Georgia National Cemetery on Monday, May 19.

The family asks that donations be made to American Cancer Society in memory of Cindi in lieu of flowers.
