David Paul Reichenbach

U.S. Veteran

QUEENSBURY --- David Paul Reichenbach, 76, of Gurney Ln., Queensbury, passed away Monday, May 12, 2014, at The Stanton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born May 16, 1937 in the Bronx, N.Y., he was the son of the late William and Elsa (Geithe) Reichenbach.

David graduated from Bolton Central School.

On Nov. 29, 1958, he married Roberta Bell at Caldwell Presbyterian Church.

David enlisted in the United States Navy Sept. 19, 1956, serving two full terms before his honorable discharge Jan. 24, 1967.

He was a member of Lake George American Legion Post No. 374, where he served in the past as Post Commander. He was also past Warren County American Legion Commander. For many years, David served as an honor guard member at Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery from inception in July 1999 until his health failed.

He retired from Warren County Parks and Recreation after many years of dedicated service.

Some of his enjoyments included traveling and camping.

In addition to his parents, David was predeceased by five brothers, Ralph, William, Robert, Richard, and Lee Reichenbach, and three sisters, Margaret Bass, and Greta and Mona Reichenbach.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Roberta “Bobbi” Reichenbach; two sons, Brian (Lauri) Reichenbach of Lake George, and Edwin (Robin) Reichenbach of Oakland Township, MI; three grandchildren, Jordan and Emma Reichenbach of MI, and Brian Zachary Reichenbach of Lake George; four sisters, Rita French of Bolton Landing, Lois Robinson of Queensbury, Dawn DiCiccio of Glens Falls, and Gail Babcock of Queensbury; and one brother, Allen Reichenbach of Edmonton, Alberta; also several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Calling hours will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, at Maynard D. Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury. Lake George American Legion will perform a brief ceremony at 2:45 p.m. during the calling hours.

A memorial service will follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Flossie Gage Bates officiating.

Friends are invited to join the family for a gathering to celebrate David’s life, following the service, at Lake George American Legion, 3932 Route 9L, Lake George, NY 12845.

Donations, in his loving memory, may be made to Lake George American Legion, P. O. Box 267, Lake George, NY 12845.

Burial, with military honors, will be held in the future at Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
