He was a talented musician and drummer sharing his lifelong love of music with all who knew him. Jerry was also the master of thousands of jokes and thrived on making people smile. He was preceded in death by his father Joseph Roger Ashley, grandparents James Jordan Ashley and Mattie Y. Ashley, Samuel Hoke Sides and Macie Whitten Sides. He is survived by his wife of ¬21 years, Ella Catoe Ashley of the home, his mother, Marie Ashley Jones, (Clarence) of Burlington, brother Danny Ashley and sister Donna Ashley Marlowe (Steve), sons Joseph Faulk Ashley (Melanie), Andrew Ashley (Paris), stepsons Joseph Honeycutt of Myrtle Beach, Robbie Honeycutt of Burlington and Mathew Litman of Graham.
