Funeral services for Roy Lee Luster age 68, of Malvern, Arkansas will be held Saturday May 10, 2014 at 11:00 am at Mt Zion Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Orlando Freeman officiating Burial with U. S. Marine Corps Honors will be in Perla Cemetery with services provided by Brandon’s Mortuary of Malvern, AR.
Roy Lee Luster was born in Witherspoon, Arkansas March 28, 1946. Roy was the son of Fay D. Avington and the late Leroy Avington.
In 1970 Roy joined in Holy wedlock to the lovely Annie M. Broomfield and they were blessed with two beautiful daughters and one son.
Roy joined the United States Marines in June 1968 where he did two tours of duty as a U. S. Marine where he received the Presidential Unit Citation, National Defense Medal, Vietnam, Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. He was a member of Mt Zion Missionary Baptist Church. He was also a retiree of Reynolds Metal Company Patterson Plant Gum Springs, Arkansas. Roy was a family man and great provider. Roy departed this life on Monday, May 5, 2014 at his residence with family by his side.
He was predeceased by his father one brother Lee Ivory Avington.
Left to remember him with love are his wife Annie M. Broomfield Luster of Malvern, Arkansas; one son Rory Allen Luster (Shanna) of Bryant, Arkansas; two daughters Regina Yvette McGhee (Lee) of Allen, Texas and Lisa Luster of Mesquite, Texas; his mother Fay D. Avington of Donaldson, Arkansas; brothers: David Avington, Rickey Avington, Dennis Avington, and Christopher Avington all of Malvern, Arkansas; two sisters: Linda Hill of Sherwood, Arkansas and Gwen Avington of Oregon his mother-in-law Christine Broomfield Carson of Malvern, Arkansas. Nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Friday, May 9, 2014 from 5 until 6 pm in the chapel of Brandon’s Mortuary, Malvern, AR
