MEBANE - Mr. Grant H. Terveen, 71, of 318 Supper Club Road, passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at his residence. A native of Emory, S.D., he is the son of the late John V. and Edith Hoffersettler Terveen. He was a loving husband, father, paw-paw, brother, and friend to many. He loved to fish even though he didn't know how, but he was excellent at hooking trees and brush.He was a member of Eastside Baptist Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Before retirement, he worked with Cone and Culp Finishings. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Linda Evans Terveen, of the home; daughters, Nancy T. Sandlin and husband Tony, of Liberty, and Cynthia Terveen, of the home; granddaughter, Katelyn Grace Terveen, of the home; sister, Gloria Beirmann, of Florida; brother, John L. Terveen, of Oregon, and many loving nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday May 10, 2014, at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Mebane with the Rev. Chuck Perkins officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday May 9, 2014, at McClure Funeral Home in Mebane, and other times at the residence of the family.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Eastside Baptist Church at 333 Supper Club Road, Mebane, NC 27302Online condolences may be sent to
