Margot M. Dieg

Dieg, Margot M. age 95 of Elmira, passed away peacefully, Friday, May 2th, 2014 at the Bethany Manor of Horseheads.  She was born in Hamburg, Germany, 13 February 1919, the daughter of the late Henrich and Emma (Hansen) Plambeck . She is predeceased by her husband; Herman Dieg; brother, Martin Plambeck.  Surviving Margot are her sons and daughters-in-law;  Rudiger (Suzann) Dieg of Elmira, NY, Reinhard (Linda) Dieg of Elmira, NY, her grandchildren; Gerald Dieg, Brian Dieg, Ronald Dieg, and special granddaughter, Margarete (Mike) Dieg-Kessler; great-grandchildren; Ryan, Amanda, Matthew and Adam and their mother, Carla Dieg; Noah, Delia, Caitlin; sister-in-law; Helene Dieg of Germany; nieces and nephews;  Reiner (Noreen)(Melanie and Nicholas) Dieg,  Ursula (Lutz) Reimann, Sascha (Carmen) Behnk, Nicola Behnk, Irmi Schroder all of Germany, Karin Devito of Massapequa Park NY,  Hans Plembeck of New Hartford, NY; step-grandchildren, Elizabeth (Mike), Earl Petrey (Mona Olfield) Kyle, Isabella, Austin, and Christofer; special friends; Marcy Dryburgh, Liz VonRoth, Dorthea Wagner all of Elmira; finally, many special friends at the Bethany Courtyards.  Margot loved to travel, and on numerous occasions went with her  husband to Germany, visiting relatives; and to Canada, Niagara Falls, and the Catskills. She loved to spend time playing with her grandchildren during their younger years and  in later years, spent many hours traveling around Elmira, Waverly, Ithaca, Binghamton and all their shopping malls.  Margot worked at Artistic Card, Remington Rand, Kressges and retired after many years, from Arnot Ogden Hospital.  Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY on Tuesday, May 6th, 2014 from 3:00PM to 6:00PM. Funeral services celebrating Margot’s life will follow at 6:00PM. Private graveside services will be at the convenience of the family in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Elmira. Memorials in Margot’s name can be made to the Animal Care Sanctuary.  Guestbook may be signed in obituaries at www.olthof.com.
