William “Petey” H Foraker Sr, 84, of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully on April 29, 2014.
William was born on October 7, 1929 to the late Jennie Foraker.
Mr. Foraker was an avid fisherman who loved to be out on the boat fishing, an avid hunter who loved being out in the field or just getting things ready for the season. He also loved rabbit hunting with Roger and his dogs. William was a proud Korean War Vet who served his country with honor from 1951-1953 and achieved the rank of Corporal. He was a proud member of Carpenters Local 626 where he worked until retirement. He loved his family and would always be there when someone needed help.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years Betty Foraker, three brothers Ray Foraker, Eddy Foraker, Roger Foraker and a sister Janet (Foraker) Wiley.
He is survived by his children; Karen Garyantes, Kathy Foraker, William Foraker, Jr, and Robert Foraker; a brother Vernon Foraker; 9 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at 1pm at Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home, 212 North Broad St, Middletown, DE 19709, friends may call one hour prior. Burial to follow at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake Rd, Bear, DE 19701 with military honors.
